Alumni Admissions Volunteers Alumni can share their Tar Heel pride by getting involved as alumni admissions volunteers. The General Alumni Association and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions solicit alumni volunteers to assist in the recruitment efforts in specific regions of the country. Since 1999, alumni have been involved in recruiting the best and brightest students. - Won't you introduce us?
We're looking for the next generation of the people who make Carolina great, and there's nobody better at spotting outstanding applicants than our alumni. Know a high school junior or senior with strong academic abilities who would be right at home in Chapel Hill? Let us know. We'll pass the information along to the admissions office. (Packets are mailed only from August to January; juniors will receive an information packet, and seniors will receive an application package. Please allow two weeks for delivery.)
- Admitted Student Receptions
(Held in New York; Atlanta; Washington, D.C.; Charlotte; the Triangle; Winston-Salem; Greensboro; Asheville; Wilmington; Greenville; Rocky Mount; and Fayetteville) In late January, the GAA will send e-mail invitations to alumni to attend a local admitted student reception. This is a great opportunity to meet some of the best and brightest from your area and possibly prepare them to head for the Southern part of Heaven.
- Summer Send-Off Receptions
Several Carolina Clubs across the country host summer send-off receptions. These receptions give new Tar Heels a chance to meet one another before they head to Chapel Hill. For more information about attending or hosting a send-off reception, contact your local club leader.
